This week we took our not so little chicks out of their cardboard coop and introduced them with our adult hen and outdoor-coop living. The new chicks seem to take to their surrounding very well. The adult hen is about twice the size of the others, but that will soon change. The all took to the coop naturally, when it was night they all moved into the house. The chick seem to take the roost by the door and hen to her spot in one of the beds. Last night they chick took over the hens usual bed half of the chicks in one. The others just roosted.
The photo below who our chickens get some outside time so we can get them used to the outdoors, learn to scratch for food and just get the lay of their new back yard.
We got our chick just in time, as i read in the newspaper that eggs are going up in price. Aldis now has eggs for 1.87 a dozen. ouch!
